Transfer Oil investing in future
COLORNO, Italy – May 7, 2012 – The need to consolidate and streamline the manufacturing process currently undertaken across two separate production plants. The need to ensure we have additional space to cater for the growing increase in demand on our capacity and the resulting requirement for greater storage area of semi-finished and finished production. The added necessity to accommodate state of the art production equipment specifically geared to new product development and production, have culminated in our decisions to undertake the major upgrading and expansion of our production plants.
Thus began the construction of a 5100 square metre (16,732 squared foot) annexe specifically designed as an integral continuance of the main building.
The relocation of plant & equipment will enable us to create a logical flow of materials and products across all stages of the manufacturing cycle resulting in a much leaner production process. Improving efficiencies, reducing downtime and eliminating the “double – handling” of products.
The new building is also designed with an eye to improved efficiency and energy saving by making extensive use of new technologies. Having under floor heating, high insulation walls & windows, but above all a photovoltaic/solar powered system capable of generating over one-fifth of the factory’s annual power consumption.
These efficiency improvements and energy saving initiatives will greatly reduce the environmental footprint of Transfer Oil’s production.
The areas not immediately employed by the initial phase of the reorganisation will remain available to respond, quickly, with any significant increase in production demand capacity with the installation of new lines or equipment.
Proud to share with you all these important advances, as always we will keep you updated with our progress via email and through our web site.
